Bird watching, or
"birding", has become one of Canada's most popular outdoor
activities. It is challenging, yet one of the simplest and most rewarding
means of spending time in the natural world. We organize a number of outings
each year to watch and identify the various species that frequent the Coordinator - Kerby Lowen |
If you like to read and discuss
books, then you might like to join one of our book club groups. The groups
meet monthly at one of the group member's homes and each group decides the
books they will read and review. Coordinator – Steen Rancher |

We play on the 4th Friday of every
month at 7:00 pm. If you haven‘t played before – no problem, we‘ll place you
with people who will be happy to show you how. The game is relaxed, easy to
learn and just for fun! Each host will have between 6 – 8 players on average,
depending on the participation level. Hosts serve tea and coffee, and their
guest players are asked to bring a simple snack to share. This is a great
opportunity for singles and couples alike to get out and meet new friends.
It‘s only once a month – so give it a try. |
Join
us for an entertaining, social evening of games. It is held on the first
Tuesday evening of each month, starting at 7 pm. Approximately 8 people will be playing at a
host's house. The host will provide the games to be played that evening,
along with coffee/tea. Guests will be asked to bring an appetizer to share. Each
month you will be contacted and asked to respond if you are available for the
Games Night. I am also looking for people to host. Coordinator – Larry Highcock |

This event will give you a chance to
meet new friends in comfortable surroundings, with good food and
conversation. For those newcomers unfamiliar with how "Guess Who"
works, here's a quick overview. On a prearranged date, hosts prepare
a main meal, plus tea and/or coffee, for an agreed number of guests (most
commonly 6 or 8), but won't know who they are until the doorbell rings.
Guests are notified of the hosts' address several days ahead, and are asked
to take along one course--appetizers, salad and buns, or a dessert--plus
their own beverage. It's that easy - and that fun! We have four dinners during the
season, between September and March. Solos and couples are welcome, and we'll
do our best to accommodate allergy-sufferers. Coordinator – Gigi

for you. Our tee-off times begin at Coordinator – Dolores Stoy |

Come and enjoy a game of tennis and good exercise. We have two
courts booked in Qualicum Beach on Legion Street Monday and Wednesday from 3
to 6 PM. You can come as often as you like and play for as long as you
desire. We accomodate all levels of play, men and
women and, depending on the number of players, we play singles and/or
doubles. The only requirements are good tennis shoes and bring your own tennis
balls. Coordinator – George Youssef |
We have started a Newcomer's snow

categories. The Senior Bronze pass is

We walk every Friday, rain or shine.
Normally the group starts at 9.30 a.m. Most walks are approximately 5-7 km.
and last 1-1.5 hrs. The group enjoys going for coffee or
refreshments after the walk. All are welcome, and there is no
requirement to pre-register. Car-pooling is encouraged, especially for walks
that are at a distance. Coordinator: AM – Steve Eyres |
We normally
meet once a month at a member's home on an evening chosen by your group,
where you enjoy a sampling of various wines. Because we meet
in members' homes, we attempt to limit the size of groups to a number that
can be comfortably accommodated. Newcomers interested in joining us for a
little sipping should contact the Coordinator for more information, or sign
up at the regular Newcomers meeting. Coordinator – Peter Beyeler |
